At Accelerate Dental, we know that every dentist has two goals in mind: to take care of their patients and build a successful practice. Unfortunately, traditional DSOs aren’t focused on entrepreneurial dentists; instead, they focus on buying older, more established firms. This can be frustrating for dentists who are actively striving to expand their practices and don’t want to give up most of their equity.
We believe that dentists should have support without having to sacrifice autonomy. We understand that you want to stay in control of your practice while investing in its future. That’s why we created a DPO for entrepreneurial dentists. It’s pretty simple, really. You invest in other thriving practices while maintaining majority ownership of your own, and we provide you with business services and support.

Each dentist we work with is a key part of the Accelerate team. You’re the one interacting with patients daily, providing the highest quality of care, and giving them a reason to return. You fuel your practice’s success by making critical business decisions. As the owner, you also provide us with insight and feedback that helps us tailor our support to your needs.
Michael Baird
Michael received his accounting degree at BYU before going on to do an MBA at Northwestern. As a three-time CEO/president of healthcare companies, Michael has a strong background in the industry. And as a four-time “Best Places to Work” leader, he knows what it takes to create strong, healthy companies. He’s brought his vision to organizations like Henry Schein One, AmWell, Avizia, Cisco, McKinsey, and Dell. Additionally, Michael is an investor or board member for over 40 companies. When he’s not working, you can find him getting involved with one of his many hobbies.
Tom Sorber
Tom holds a B.S. from BYU. He started his career helping growth-stage businesses raise capital as an investment banker at Raymond James then as a private equity investor at Peterson Partners. Recently, he has held finance and operational leadership roles across Solutionreach’s product, sales and services teams, supporting dental practices and DSOs. Tom is an aspiring 3-hour marathon runner.
